Fall Is Nature’s Pivot Point—Could It Be Yours Too?
There’s something about fall that reminds us that change can be both beautiful and necessary. The light shifts. The mornings grow cooler. The pace of summer slows down. And in that stillness, we’re invited to pause—and maybe ask ourselves what might be ready to change, too.
Fall is nature’s pivot point. It doesn’t ask permission to change—it simply follows the inner knowing that says, “Now is the time.”
Trees drop their leaves, not because they are broken, but because they are wise. They understand the value of letting go so they can preserve energy for what comes next.
Every year, as the seasons shift, I find myself wondering: What am I still holding onto—and what might I be ready to release?
You Don’t Need to Be in Crisis to Crave Change
Many of us assume change only arrives when something falls apart. When a job ends, a relationship shifts, or life throws us a curveball. But some of the most meaningful changes don’t begin in crisis. They begin in quiet. In the middle of what is already “fine.” In that subtle, persistent feeling that says:
This isn’t bad. But it’s not quite right anymore.
That whisper is often the very first signal that you are ready for something more aligned, more fulfilling, more you.
After I sold my company, I was in a season where life was good—on paper. I had checked all the boxes and earned the permission to rest. People told me I could coast, that I deserved to relax and enjoy the life I had built. And I did enjoy it. But I also knew I wasn’t finished.
I wasn’t looking for a redo of the same success story. I was looking for something that felt deeply connected to the life I wanted next. That’s how the idea for the ranch—and eventually The Immersion—came to life. Both were part of creating a new way of living and working that felt more like me, at this phase of my life.
But that clarity didn’t come from having all the answers. It started with one simple question: What’s next?
Fall Creates Space to Ask Better Questions
There’s a reason fall often feels like a turning point. It invites reflection. The busy energy of summer fades, and we’re no longer rushing from one thing to the next. We’re walking slower, noticing more, and feeling a little more tuned in.
This season naturally invites us to slow down and take stock. It’s a time to look at what’s working, what feels misaligned, and what might be quietly asking to change. From that place, ask yourself:
Where in my life am I settling?
What have I outgrown, even if it still technically “works”?
What would I love to feel more of—freedom, connection, creativity, joy?
What part of me have I been putting off that wants to come forward?
Fall isn’t (just) about cozy sweaters and pumpkin spice. It’s a season of pruning—of letting go of what’s no longer needed so that something new can take root.
We Wait for Clarity—But Often, Clarity Waits for Us
Most of us resist change not because we don’t want it—but because we want a guarantee. We want to know the outcome before we step forward. But in my experience, clarity rarely shows up all at once.
It arrives in fragments. In the questions we’re willing to ask ourselves. In the patterns we finally see clearly. In the pause between what was and what could be.
The mistake is waiting for certainty before we begin. But the truth is, clarity often comes through the act of beginning.
And so, if you’ve been feeling the quiet tug toward something different, fall is the perfect time to listen. Not because everything is falling apart—but because you’re ready for something more. And you don’t have to burn it all down to find it.
You don’t need to start over. You just need to move ahead intentionally.
Want Help Exploring What’s Next?
That’s exactly what The Immersion was designed for.
The Immersion is a private, multi-day, one-on-one retreat with me at my ranch in Ridgway, Colorado. It’s built for people who are standing at a meaningful crossroads—those who are in transition, in decision-making mode, or in a moment of “what now?” and are looking for space, clarity, and a grounded path forward.
Here’s what happens during an Immersion:
We slow things down. The ranch offers stillness, quiet, and the physical space to breathe, think, and tune back in.
We get clear on what’s really going on. Through deep conversation and structured reflection, we uncover what you want—and what’s been holding you back.
We clarify your Nxt. Whether that’s a career pivot, a lifestyle redesign, or simply a shift in how you show up in your life, we’ll define it together.
We make a plan. You’ll leave with a customized roadmap, based on your values, goals, and vision. Not a one-size-fits-all template—but a plan that’s grounded in who you are.
And yes—there are goats, chickens, and coffee on the porch. There’s a garden full of rosemary, tomatoes, and squash. There’s time to walk, to laugh, to cry (if needed), and to reconnect with your own voice. This is not a group retreat. It’s you and me, deep in the work, with space to exhale.
If you’re feeling the nudge—if something in you is asking for more—this season might just be your perfect starting point.
